October 1, 2018
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. (Oct. 3, 2018) – Calling all Q fans! With three new hickory-smoked pork offerings from Farm Rich, the taste of authentic hand-pulled Tennessee barbecue is only as far as your frozen food aisle. Farm Rich has just introduced new Hand Pulled Pork Sliders, Hickory Smoked Hand Pulled Pork BBQ and sauce with a Chorizo style seasoning and Hickory Smoked Hand Pulled Pork in a Honey Bourbon BBQ Sauce. All are available now in the freezer section of select grocery stores nationwide.
With this new microwaveable BBQ line, authentic hand-pulled pork that’s been hickory smoked for hours can be enjoyed at home in no time at all. The new products include:
Hand Pulled Pork Sliders
Packed with 13 grams of protein per serving (an excellent source), the mouthwatering handheld Sliders make a filling snack, game-day grab or satisfying main course option. Each carton contains 6 sliders with hickory smoked hand pulled pork perfectly complemented with a specialty crafted sweet and spicy BBQ sauce on a soft roll
Hickory Smoked Hand Pulled Pork
Available with both Chorizo style seasoning sauce or honey bourbon BBQ sauce, the hand pulled pork is slow-cooked by expert pitmasters at Farm Rich’s BBQ plant in Gallatin, Tenn. (outside Nashville). Each 16-oz. carton of authentic pulled pork shoulder can be warmed in the oven or microwave for a simple, heat-and-eat meal option. These products are also gluten-free.
Priced around $5.98, all three items are available in the freezer section of Walmart stores across the country and the Sliders will be offered at Kroger starting in November. For more product information and recipe ideas, visit FarmRich.com.
According to “Dr. BBQ,” E. Lee Wiley, Ph.D., Principal Scientist, Research and Development for Farm Rich in Gallatin, Tenn., here’s the secret sauce to making authentic Tennessee Q:
- Farm Rich starts its authentic process with carefully selected pork shoulders.
- The shoulders are hardwood smoked for more than eight hours with local, Tennessee hickory wood and overseen by real pitmasters.
- Once the BBQ has officially smoked down to 70% of its original weight, the racks are pulled out of the smokers to cool.
- The BBQ is hand pulled right off the bone to ensure only the finest quality meat makes the cut.
- The pork is then smothered in rich and flavorful sauce.
- Finally, the BBQ is immediately frozen to seal in that hickory smoked pork flavor.
Shannon Gilreath, Farm Rich Director of Marketing, adds, “If you want truly authentic-tasting BBQ, you can’t speed up the slow-cook process, but you can let the experts do most of the work. With these new slow-cooked barbecue offerings all made at our Tennessee location, you’ve got delicious sliders for a quick protein snack or gluten-free, real BBQ for meals or last-minute cookouts.”
