Ingredients
3 tubes (each 8 oz) refrigerator crescent rolls, each roll halved
12 slices bacon, halved
14 slices Monterey Jack cheese, divided
1 egg, beaten
1 cup chipotle mayo, for dipping
Steps
- Cook Jalapeño Peppers according to package directions.
- In large skillet, cook the bacon slices set over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes or until fat renders and crisp around the edges. (The bacon should still be soft enough to roll around the peppers). Transfer to paper towel to drain and cool.
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Slice 12 cheese slices in half and set remaining 2 slices aside for garnishing.
- Place half a cheese slice on thick end of crescent roll triangle. Top with a Jalapeño Pepper and slice of bacon, then roll up.
- Place pig in a blanket in center of parchment line baking sheet. Repeat wrapping remaining Jalapeño Peppers and arrange on baking sheet to resemble a football shape. (The crescents should be touching.)
- Beat egg with 1 tbsp water and brush tops of each crescent with egg wash. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until crescents are golden.
- Slice remaining cheese slices into strips and arrange over pull-apart pigs in a blanket to resemble the laces of a football, trimming as needed. Serve warm.
Tips:
- Alternatively serve pigs in a blanket with honey mustard, avocado ranch, sour cream or salsa.
- Alternatively, to garnish pull-apart pigs in a blanket, fill a squeeze bottle with sour cream, and pipe lines to resemble football laces.
